Become a Ministry Prayer Partner

Please pray for the Wichita Falls Faith Mission team, the clients, guests, and the people in the community seeking assistance. Pray for lives to be touched and transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. Pray for Faith Refuge and Faith Mission to be tools used by God to provide shelter in the storm of lives.

Invite a speaker for your church, program or event. Please call the development department at (940) 723-5663 to schedule a speaker.

Volunteer Opportunities

Chapel Service

Opportunity: Speak from our pulpit at Faith Mission/Faith Refuge during one of our chapel services. Bring a type of gospel music with you or a speaker alone. Share a devotional or a word of encouragement.

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must interview with Steve Sparks, CEO, to become a chapel speaker.

Classroom Instructor

Opportunities: Numerous classes are held daily at Faith Mission and Faith Refuge. These classes are geared directly toward the needs of our guests. They are designed to assist with becoming a productive citizen in society once again. Instructors come usually once a week for one hour during their allotted class time. Curriculum for classes is provided or must be approved by CEO/COO before teaching.

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Meet with appropriate Site Director/Program director in person to be interviewed for classroom position and review details of class. Must be able to pass a background check.

Counselor

Opportunities: Counselors will strive to provide an encouraging, non-judgmental environment that allows the guests of Wichita Falls Faith Mission to be more transparent and to better benefit from therapy.

Qualifications: WFFM counselors will have a current LPC. Should interns be obtaining their counseling degree they will be of a Masters level practicum student who are volunteering their time in fulfillment of their educational requirements. Primary supervision for each counseling intern is provided by professors at each student’s respective graduate school.

Requirements: This volunteer opportunity requires an interview with CEO, Steve Sparks in order to provide service to WFFM. Must be able to pass a background check.

Donation Sorting

Opportunity: To assist with clothing donations. To sort, organize, hang and fold.

Qualifications:This opportunity is open to individuals, families or groups. Must be 18 years of age or minimum of 10 years of age accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Driver

Opportunities: We have opportunities at Faith Mission/Faith Refuge to transport guests to necessary appointments that are geared to progressing them in their journey to self-sufficiency. Occasionally we have special events in which a driver will be needed. All appointments are scheduled in advance by appropriate director. A schedule will be provided.

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Possess a current and valid driver’s license. Must provide proof of current insurance. Meet with appropriate site/program director in person to be interviewed and review details of schedule. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Housekeeping

Opportunity: To assist with the day to day operations of organizing supplies, stocking shelves, cleaning areas and overall upkeep of facility.

Qualifications: Must be over 18 years of age.

Meal Service

Opportunity: Serve Lunch/Dinner at Faith Mission or Faith Refuge. You will be assigned a job by the kitchen staff when you arrive. Jobs range from helping with line prep, preparing trays, serving trays to residents at the table and/or clean up and decorating the tables. A spot on the serving line is not guaranteed.

Qualifications: This opportunity is open to individuals, families or groups. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 16 to serve on the steam line without adult supervision. Volunteers between the ages 14-16 may serve on the steam line with adult supervision. Volunteers under the age of 14 may serve in the dining area only.

Requirements: Closed toed shoes, gloves and hair nets will be provided or a ball cap may be worn.

Mentoring

Opportunities: To come along side our guests with encouragement and a non-judgmental attitude. To listen with compassion and guide the guest toward sound advice as found in the word of God.

Qualifications: To be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. To be an active member of a local evangelical church. Please submit your testimony telling us about yourself and your relationship with God. Must interview with appropriate director for approval. Must be able to pass a background check.

Office Help

Opportunity: Office Volunteer to assist Site Director and staff with answering the phones. Greeting guests and donors and assisting with copying, faxing and filing.

Qualifications: Must be over 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check.

Parties for Children

Opportunity: Birthday or seasonal parties for children. This is a group only opportunity to work with the children who are guests of Faith Mission/Faith Refuge. Birthday parties are a once a month event with fun activities. Toys will be handed out provided by Wichita Falls Faith Mission. Seasonal Parties will be with fun activities and an age appropriate seasonal theme.

Qualifications: Must be over 18 years of age or accompanied by parent or guardian. Must be able to pass background and drug test.

Tutoring

Opportunities: Offer homework help to our school students. Looking for volunteers who enjoy spending time with children and who can be patient teachers in helping them with their school homework.

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Vacation Bible School

Opportunity: This is a group only opportunity to work with the children who are guests of Faith Mission/Faith Refuge. Bible School curriculum must be approved by CEO/COO or Family Case Manager.

Qualifications: Must be over 18 years of age or accompanied by parent or guardian. Must be able to pass a background check.
