Social Services Initiative

A complete continuum of care.

In an effort to achieve more efficient and effective outcomes, we have joined all our programs and services into the Social Services Initiative.

From the moment a client walks in the door, our programs and services are designed to help them on a path to self-sufficiency.

At its core, this ambitious action is the collaborative relationship between all our services, staff, programming, facilities and measuring & tracking tools we utilize at Wichita Falls Faith Mission.

By connecting all these, we are better able to determine the needs, provide the best remedies, measure our impact and evaluate our approaches.

In many cases, a client’s needs will necessitate more than one service or program. This initiative creates a natural flow which reduces the trauma that often accompanies homelessness. It also encourages goal setting and accountability.

The programs and services included are:

  • Homeless Shelter Services
  • Case Management Services
  • Addiction Recovery Programs
  • Job Readiness Programs
  • Transitional Supportive Housing

Each and every client has a unique set of needs. Our goal is to address those needs systematically by listening to their story and guiding them toward a place where they can provide for themselves and their families. This is a holistic approach which includes caring for their Spiritual, Emotional and Physical needs. It is a collaborative effort between the client, our staff and sometimes our partner agencies in the community. Some Key Indicators we use to determine success include but are not limited to:

  • Current identification
  • A source of medical care
  • A support group
  • Freedom from addiction
  • Employment
  • Transportation
  • Housing (with their name on the lease)

Specific Objectives

Each year, our staff determine the objectives for each service and program. S.M.A.R.T. Goals are set. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-based). These include milestones such as graduations, employment, housing, sobriety and so forth. They also include less obvious things such as health, spiritual growth, healthy relationships, etc.

These are used to measure success, evaluate programs and services and develop strategic plans for the future.

Wichita Falls Faith Mission does not receive local, state or federal government money. All the funding for the Social Services Initiative comes from individuals, churches, events, private foundations and corporations. Click here to see the Social Services Budget.

We believe God has given Wichita Falls Faith Mission a very effective blueprint for life-change. It begins with a decision to trust Jesus Christ by faith as Lord and Savior. However, even if a person has no faith or belief in any religion, we want to compassionately serve them and help them become the person God created them to be.
