The Berry Family – A Hand up

Timothy and Emily came to Faith Mission with their two children. A few years ago, Timothy lost a security job due to his employer passing away. Shortly after, he lost their house due to unemployment. Since then, the family has bounced from place to place to find somewhere to fit in. This was their first experience with homelessness.

They have stayed at several homeless shelters throughout Oklahoma, but Timothy had no luck securing employment. One day through an internet search, he read about Faith Mission. He contacted several local churches with hopes of finding transportation for him and his family to Faith Mission. A biker church in Duncan, Oklahoma graciously provided transportation for the family to our shelter.

“Ever since we lost our home, no matter where we are, we are all together. We are a very close-knit family. I don’t know where we’d be without Faith Mission. We’ve literally lived on the streets before with our kids,” stated Timothy.

Both Timothy and Emily expressed gratitude to those that give to Wichita Falls Faith Mission so that families like them are able to get the hand up they need to get back on their feet. They are mostly thankful for the assistance they have received from their case manager, Pete Corrales. He has helped them with getting on housing lists, doctor appointments and transportation.

The family asks that you please pray for their future. They have moved out of the Faith Mission shelter with jobs and into their own housing.
