We probably all have a favorite season.  Mine is Spring.  I love the warmer weather, the smell of fresh cut grass, the newly budded trees and most of all, the new life.  Around our house, we have rabbits that inhabit the bushes and tall grass.  Every now and then, we catch a glimpse of one of their bunnies venturing out on their own.  Usually, momma isn’t far away.  Seeing them just reminds me of our life-giving God and how He sustains His creation.

On March 15, our family got two new additions.  My youngest daughter delivered twin girls, Aly and Emy.  Of course, they are the most beautiful babies in the nursery.  We can’t hold them yet because they are under weight and still developing, so for now, pictures will have to do.  As I look at those tiny faces and hear their sweet voices on the videos, I once again marvel at my God and His creativeness.  Every feature from their toes to their precious little noses is perfect.  God did that.  I hope I never stop being amazed.

I love studying the teachings of Jesus, especially the Sermon on the Mount.  In one special section He taught what is referred to as the Beatitudes.  These eight qualities are coupled with 8 promises for the believer.  In one He said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”  Have you ever wondered what it means to “see God?”  Of course, it means we will see Him face to face when we get to Heaven.  But it actually means more than that.  It means we will see Him, or at least the realization of Him in His creation … today.  What the whole thing means is that when we have a pure heart, the things of God become clearer.  We see Him everywhere.  The purer our hearts, the clearer our sight becomes. We are able to see and be awestruck by His Glory.

And how do we keep a pure heart.  According to God’s word, it means to have a singleness of Heart towards God.  Its quest is to please God and seek His truth.  Our prayer becomes, “Create in me a clean heart, Oh Lord, My God.”

I saw God last week in Emy and Aly’s faces.  God did that and, I hope I never stop being amazed.
