A pastor wanted to illustrate faith during his sermon, so he took a chair and placed it in the middle of the stage. He said, “I believe that this chair will hold me up.” He went on to ask, “But what do I have to do to prove I have faith in the chair.” Most of the crowd said in unison, “Sit in it!”

At Wichita Falls Faith Mission, we absolutely affirm that God is our provider and savior, and we place our Faith in Him to complete the work He has started.

1 Thess. 5:24 says’ “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”

Just like the chair, we put our full weight on Him to be all-sufficient for every need we have and every need our clients have. In every decision, we pray for God’s leadership and for His will to be done. We trust Him fully and lean on His ways.

If you sat in on one of our board meetings, you would notice a group of men and women praying for guidance and trusting God in every decision.

Along with Faith in God, we also treasure His Word, the Holy Bible and believe that every word is the inspired Word of God. We believe it can make us wise for salvation and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

It is not only our roadmap for leading and operating this ministry, but we use it daily to teach those that God sends us. Romans 12:2 teaches that we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds. What better way to have a renewed mind than to fill it with God’s Word.

But it is more than just good information. As the Spirit of God leads, it gives us the power to discover and do God’s will in our lives. David wrote in Psalm 119:11, “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Jordan told me that when he came to Faith Mission, he thought all he needed was a place to stay for a while, to get away from the bad influences and to get sober. After a few days, he realized that what He really needed was a Savior He could trust in and something to guide his life. He said God’s Word began to come alive as he read it and for the first time, he had a purpose for living other than drugs.

At Wichita Falls Faith Mission, we will never forget our calling to be a compassionate lighthouse to feed the hungry, cloth the naked and give shelter to the homeless. But we serve a God who wants to give them so much more. He wants to give them hope and guidance. He wants them to fulfill their purpose in this life.

We put our full weight on that God and believe every word in His Bible.
