Just about everything we do at our two shelters has the potential to affect someone’s life in a profound way. In some cases, we are able to listen and provide help so a person can get over a temporary bump in the road. Other times, we have been able to share the Gospel and introduce them to Jesus and His love for them. We have seen families restored, hope reignited, destructive behaviors reversed, and in some rare cases, our services have even been the difference between life and death.
It’s a huge responsibility and one we take very seriously. We don’t leave our responses to chance and just make it up as we go along. We are very intentional in the way we serve and in the why we serve.
We have established a set of core values that we live by. They are non-negotiable for us, and they guide us when we make decisions, build relationships and solve problems. They are the root beliefs that we operate from.
Here are the personal and organizational standards and ideals for Wichita Falls Faith Mission:
- Life Change
- Faith in God
- The Holy Bible
- The Worth of Every Person
- Collaboration
- Integrity
- Personal Responsibility
- Self-sufficiency
I realize that these short one- or two-word phrases don’t tell you much, so over the next few weeks, I would like to expand on each one and give Scriptural basis for them. You will see that it is not only our desire to be consistent and intentional in the way we serve our guests, but we also want to be accountable to a source of truth, and for us that is God’s Word. You will also see that these values help define the scope of our work so that we find the thing we do best and go for it with all our might.
